SUPREME COURT SUBSTANTIALLY CHANGES BAR EXAM
The Tennessee Supreme Court, in response to a petition from the Tennessee Board of Law Examiners, has implemented a new key testing component for admission to the Tennessee Bar. Beginning with the February 2019 bar exam, Tennessee will utilize the Uniform Bar Exam (UBE). The use of this test allows scores earned in Tennessee to be transferred to other states for licensure. With the mobility of modern lawyers, use of the UBE is a logical step.
Its been a long time since I took the Tennessee bar exam, and I never plan to take another state bar exam. But for our potential new associates, our kids and our friends facing a bar exam, especially those with no job lined up yet, the UBE is a welcome change.
